Like Jazz? And what about Archery?
Posted on August 30, 2010 · Leave a CommentTo answer both questions, yes.
Whether you’re in tune with soul music, or weather you like sports, there’s two events in Naperville that I’m sure you’ll be interested in.
Tonight, Scott Lies and Friends will play at Brookdale Music at 7:00. They will feature music from Duke Ellington, George Gerschwin, Joe Henderson, Bud Powell and more. Tickets are only $1o. Call 630.983.5100 for details. You can purchase tickets online at Brookdale Music.
And if you want to go for the adventure, archery lessons for beginners will be held at the St. James Farm Forest Preserve in Warrenville on Mack Road from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Lessons are free! Call 630.933.7248 for more information.
Which event will I attend? I’m not sure yet. I would love to listen to some good ole’ jazz music, but at the same time, I wouldn’t mind learning about the history of archery.
Decisions, decisions….
Which one will you go to? I think both places are fairly close to Thornberry Woods Apartments. Mapquest it!

Sometimes, it’s the little things about summer that I will miss more than big vacations.
But now, we can start preparing for fall festivals!!!
What are your plans for the fall? Do you plan to do more than you did during the summer?

Which Movie Will You See???
Posted on August 20, 2010 · Leave a CommentThe new movies for this week are in!!!! Which one will you see?
I am definitely going to see “Lottery Ticket,” starring Bow Wow, Loretta Devine, Ice Cube and more. Anytime one of those actors are in a movie, you can expect a good laugh. In this movie, and young boy and his grandmother wins the lottery, only to find out that they have to wait three days to claim their prize because it’s a holiday weekend. Will they survive the wait?
Sounds pretty interesting, huh?
But there are other movies coming out as well! Which one will you see?

Community Pet Walk is Tomorrow!
Posted on August 18, 2010 · Leave a CommentDon’t forget!
Community Pet Walk is tomorrow! Bring your pups to Downtown Naperville around 6:00 p.m. for the community summer group pet walk along the Riverwalk. The walks are normally 40 minutes long. It’s an awesome way for both you and your pet to get a little excercizing in, along with the fun of socializing and meeting new people (and pups!).
The meeting spot is in front of Two Bostons (103 W. Jefferson at Main).
Hope to see all Thornberry Woods pets!

How Long Should I Wait to Wash This?
Posted on August 9, 2010 · Leave a CommentI can’t believe it… I actually found a “When-to-Wash-It” handbook! I didn’t even think one existed!
And it’s a great “book” to have because for me, I might wear things more than once (just so long as they aren’t dirty) before I trunk it to the wash room.
And now that I’ve found tips on Real Simple to help me decide when it’s time to wash something, I wanted to share with you some of my most common garment questions, like:
Q. How many times can I wear jeans before I have to wash them?
A. 4 to 5 times! And when you do wash them, flip them inside out and wash them in cold water. This will help it keep its color.
Q. How many times can I wear dress pants before having to wash them?
A. 4 or 5 times! You should also take them off as soon as you get home from work and put on some lounging gear. That will keep them looking new longer, too.
Q. My jacket/blazers?
A. 5 or 6 times. It may vary during the summer months because you tend to perspire more during that time. Just like dress pants, take it off as soon as you get home from work.
There’s plenty more where that came from! Guess I’ll hang my jeans back in the closet when I get home today!
And when you do get ready to wash, use your washer and dryer found in your Thornberry Woods‘ apartment!
